January General Meeting Notes

Dave welcomed a new member Victoria Forster and guests Claire Benton and Jan Escoban. Thanks went out to: Diane Harm for chairing the Christmas Party and to Pat Beebe for the demonstration at LEC in November. 

Officers’ Report: 

Treasurer: Bank Balance – $2,330.65.   Members – 58. 

Dave Beebe 1VP: Standing in for Fran tonight. Bamboozle show is up and the day for art pick should be clear of events and traffic. 

Pat Beebe 2VP: Volunteers are needed for the Membership Show at the Carrollwood Cultural Center. We will need Show Chairman, award and ribbons committee, sponsors, helpers for intake of art, installation, outtake, and reception. 

Committee Reports: Sally Yoder – Plein Air and Art Challenge: The next Plein location will be Sam’s Beach Club in Hudson. It has a nice water view and restaurant for lunch. Make sure you check Facebook for more information and to RSVP. The next Art Challenged will be announced at next month’s meeting by the last challenge winner Virginia Butler. 

Urgent Reminders: 

Membership Dues are due Jan. 31. Make check out to NTAL and send to NTAL address which can be found on the website.

Bamboozle art pick up is Feb. 10 at 9:30.

The Feb. General meeting is at LEC with a demo by Diane Harm. She will be doing a colored pencil demo. Paper will be provided by LEC. 

Board Election will be in March. The current board positions will end in March and the positions are all open. To continue NTAL we are accepting nominations for board members. Start thinking about your nominations. The 5 potions opened are President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. You must be an active member to qualify for a board position. 

New Chairman’s will begin in April.


Marie Schadt is currently showing at the Miniature Show at the Dunedin Fine Art Center. There are 700 masterpieces to view. 

Margret Thomas sold a piece at the Carrollwood Cultural Center Jan Exhibit. 

Paw Pup Portrait Contest at the Pinellas Ale Works, entrees being accepted by March 1. Contact 

Show and Tell and Featured Artist: 

Seven members participated in the Show and Tell program with a 15-min. video by Dave and Pat Beebe on the rare Tufted Coquettes Hummingbirds. Five members participated in the Featured Artist contest. Dave Beebe is the Featured Artists winner.His winning entry is a photograph of Tufted Coquette hummingbirds (video) from Trinidad.
