NTAL member Robert Murdock  forwarded information about an on-going state wide art project that began in 2013. Flor500 is an online project covering the 500 wildflowers in Florida. Region 4, which encompasses West Central Florida, has less than 15 spots remaining and they are looking for artists to select a flower and submit a digital copy of their work.

The deadline, to be included in the first digital exhibition has been extended from June 15 until all flowers have been completed. You may choose an unassigned flower from the list for your region and apply to participate or email Kathleen King, Region 4 coordinator.  You may choose a flower from the list and let her know your choice. She will  send your information to Gabrielle Wood who will add your name to the website.

Create your artwork in any medium and dimension – we only ask for a 300 dpi image of the artwork no smaller than 1200 x 1800 pixels. Upload your 300 dpi image, artist statement (50 words) and bio (50 words) on form at the bottom of your selected flower page. By participating you agree to release your image with a Creative Common (CC) license.

You can contact Xavier Cortada, FLOR500 Coordinator, by email: flor500@fiu.edu or by phone: (305) 535-1459.

NTAL Member Submissions: Pat Beebe, Anna Granina, and Bob Murdock
