February General Meeting Notes

On the 2nd month of each quarter, the North Tampa Arts League meets at the Life Enrichment Center for a workshop This month Pat Beebe demonstrated her techniques for working with Pebeo Fantasy paints: Moon, Prisme and Vitrail. She painted an underwater scene in 1 hour that demonstrated how these self-manipulating paints work together to create interesting textures.

Here is the underwater scene after the 1 hour demo. It will need to dry overnight before the finishing touches can be added. It will then need to dry horizontally for a couple of weeks before it can be displayed vertically.

Treasurer Joan Garcia:  Bank Balance - $2665.00     Members – 45

2ndVP Jan Roser:  Bamboozle Drop-off has changed to Friday 3rd at 9 a.m. due to the Gasparilla Art Festival opening on Saturday. 

The Member Show at Carrollwood Cultural Center is June. Art drop-off is May 30th. Volunteers needed. Sign up with Jan.

Committee Reports: Field Trip to the Dali Museum with LEC Friday, March 24, 9:30. Admission is $21 ($19 seniors) Payment required by March 17.  Contact LEC for details and payment. 

Sally Yoder is coordinating Quarterly Art Challenge. She announced the challenge theme for this month,  Black & White + 1. The Challenge will be held at the March 22 meeting. All members can participate. 

Old Business:  Officer positions still open for nomination. 

Announcements: Congrats to Dotty Banker for 1st place winner and Virginia Butler for 2nd place winner at the Florida State Fair.  

Marie Schadt sold a miniature piece at the Minature Show. 

Joan has a sponsor and is receiving her dog statue to paint  for the Super Hero Dog.

Gaston McKenzie is showing at the Urban Deli bar in St. Pete.
